More about these small business marketing tips...
Marketing for small business is a challenge. And for good reason! If you're a small business owner, you no doubt wear many hats, and you constantly find yourself short on time. Trust me, I do know. I've been the owner of a couple of small businesses (still am!), and I have experienced firsthand the challenges of small business marketing. This dilemma also applies to people who work for big companies but independently, like real estate agents and insurance agents. You have to market yourself--because you are your small business--but you don't really know how.
When you're busy running the show as the owner, small business marketing is often poorly done or not done at all. And even small business owners with the best intentions get overwhelmed and don't follow through on marketing they know they should do. Why? Lack of time, maybe even lack of confidence in their ability to market. After all, marketing seems (and can be) hard. Google "marketing" or "small business marketing" and you'll get millions of results. Where and how does a small business marketer start wading through all that information to find the marketing knowledge that will make a difference to the bottom line without taking too much time or money?
That's what makes marketing tips so useful. If you own and market a small business, you probably don't have a million dollar marketing budget and millions in sales goals. So you don't need a complex marketing strategy or even a full-time marketing person. Meaning you don't need a marketing tome. Rather than spending your precious time sitting down and reading a marketing book cover to cover, and trying to first absorb the information and second put it into action, short, easy to do tips are much more useful.
That's why I spent two and a half years writing these small business marketing tips. I know a lot of small business owners in my community and I saw they just didn't know how to market so they just didn't. I started writing weekly tips and emailing them to my small business owner friends, and then other small business owners and marketers as word about the marketing tips spread.
I could see that they weren't going to read marketing books, or marketing newsletters, because of the time factor: no time to do it, no time to implement what they learned.
So these small business marketing tips were written to be read in less than a minute, and easy to do. You don't have to know a lot about marketing to put these marketing tips into action.
Check out the sample small business marketing tips and you'll see how short and actionable they are. Read the praises sung by others who have used the book. Then email us for a copy, and go through it at random for marketing tips, tricks, suggestions and ideas that are easy to do. So you can market, despite the lack of time so common among small business owners.
